    My Two Cents

    For the longest time I have wondered about the expression "my $0.02". And for some reason I found it on Wikipedia today. Thought I'd share it: My two cents (idiom).

    Windows Live Writer

    Windows Live Writer is a pretty neat tool for authoring blog entries. Blogging tools have evolved quite a lot... oh the days when using Textile was considered advanced. 

    Mike writes in Windows Live Writer - "If you're an avid blogger, this is one tool you must check out: Windows Live Writer... So what are you waiting for, download Writer ..."

    Blogi hahmottuu ja testailua

    Noni, alkaa space-koti hahmottua. Koitetaan vielä, miten joku Flickr-kuva näkyisi tässä... kun se pikkukuvalista ei toimi tässä.
     
     
    Vaikuttaa vahvasti siltä, että olen valmis siirtymään tähän Spaces blogiin.

    Configured and testing

    This blog is now configured.
     
    Well at least I now have a feel for it. I wanted to try the weather gadget, but couldn't get it installed... oh well.
     
    I wonder if I can import my old posts somehow.

    Move the blog or not?

    My blog posts have slowed down quite a lot and this makes managing my own pages a bit of a hassle. Now I see that Windows Spaces has a new and better look, so I'll consider moving my posts here.
     
    I'll have to play around a bit to see how this has changed and what modules I can use.

    Minne blogi?

    Mietin tässä minne blogin voisi laittaa, kun tuli asennettua kotikone uusiksi eikä tee mieli asentaa MovableTypeä uudelleen.

    Tämä Spaces voisi toimia... kuvat ovat aika tärkeitä. Toisaalta Flickr voi tarjota myös kuvapalvelun.

    Comments about MSN Spaces

    So how do I like MSN Spaces?

    Good:

    • Entry editing. RichText edit box is cool.
    • Pictures. Easy management, adding.
    • Easy to start using. Easy to modify the "boxes" to use and where to place them.
    • Feeds
    • Comments

    Bad:

    • Not very personal. MSN is wrapped around and you are limited in themes to use. It looks like MSN, not me.
    • Where is import/export?

    So it's mostly good. But the limits are quite limiting for powerbloggers.

    I might switch, since I've been blogging a lot less lately, and don't have time to play with custom setups.

    Spaces?

    A new blog tool from MS. Well that's just something that has got to be tried.

    And so far it looks pretty cool.

    Currently my blog is at http://www.oliverw.net, but it is a bit cludgy (a local MT installation with a ftp-upload and separate image gallery). So maybe this could be a better blogging tool... The image support looks especially interesting.
