    Xbox360 and the Red Rings of Death

    My Xbox360 got tired of me, and is now only displaying the Red Rings of Death.
     
    And I just got it set up for gaming, music streaming, video streaming, DVD and HD-DVD playback. Everything was working so nicely. Figures something was bound to go wrong.
     
    I had this unit for 1.5 years, so I was kinda hoping it would last until the next console generation would come along. Guess not.
     
    This is the second unit I'm sending for repairs/replacement.
     
    Sigh...
     
    Update 2008-02-15:
     
    They replaced the motherboard, ran an automated 2 hour test and sent it back. It's working fine now. Actually it's even running cooler and is more quiet than before. The noice level is now perfectly ok. I guess they even added some padding, since the DVD drive doesn't make such a horrible noice anymore.
     
    I'm a happy gamer again.

    Halo 3 Disc Replacement for Me

    Sigh.

    My Halo 3 game disc has radial cracks and the Xbox can't read the disc fully. So I had to send it to the U.K. for replacement.

    "Wait 4-6 weeks for replacement". Come on! And it's their fault it broke in the first place! (Faulty limited edition metal boxes.)

    Why stores can't replace broken game disks is beyond me, but that's how things are now and I should apparently just shut up and do as I'm told Sarkastinen

    Well at least they will send a replacement free of charge.

    Orange box should keep me busy while waiting.
     
    Update:
    Got the replacement disc 23.11. So about 3 weeks... I suppose that's good service.

    Halo3

    Iltaohjelma on nyt taattu vähäksi aikaa. Halo3 tuli Xbox360:ille.
     
    Halo3:sen Believe-mainoskamppanja on kyllä paras mainoskamppanja pelille ikinä. Tietty olin joka tapuksessa hommaamassa pelin, mutta H3-mainosvideot ovat erittäin hyviä.
     
    Olen nyt pelannut pari kamppanjaa (7 jäljellä) ja muutaman moninpelin ja hyvä pelihän tämä on. Graafisesti se ei ole huipputasoa; maasto on hieman kulmikasta. Mutta muutoin hyvän näköinen, tuntuma erinomainen ja taistelut mielenkiintoisia. Legendary-vaikeustaso on aavistuksen verran hankala minulle, mutta aion sinnitellä.
